Oyster Save the Dates for a Chatham Bars Inn Wedding from Concertina Press

Save the Dates for your Coastal New England Wedding

If you've been searching high and low for the perfect save the date for your Cape Cod wedding, look no further than this new watercolor oyster shell design! Your guests will love the high-quality textured card stock I use in my designs, and they'll have a fridge-worthy picture of the both of you with your wedding date...because I can print a photo of you on the back for free! (or if you prefer no photo, I can continue the beautiful watercolor oyster shell design across the back too). This oyster design is timeless and beautiful, and appeals to everyone who has enjoyed walking on the rocky beaches of New England, looking for sea glass and shells hidden among the smooth gray stones and soft sand. Why is Cape Cod so special to me?

I'm Ruth, the owner and designer for Concertina Press. I started my business in 2011 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, after seeing a need for tasteful, high quality coastal wedding invites that weren't plastered with flip-flops or starfish (nothing against those...but I wanted something a little bit different for the Cape!). My husband and I were married on the Cape, too, and lived there for 11 years before moving down to Florida to be closer to my folks. Happily, I still get to live by the ocean, and I can work with you online...and enjoy stand up paddle-boarding year round!

Why order from Concertina Press?

I've seen lots of wedding invites come through my mailbox as my friends and family get married. There are some huge varieties in quality! Some invites are thin and flimsy. Some of them have boring, all-black addressing in tiny fonts, or the wording is crowded and hard to read. Some of them get smudged in the mail. I know that when I send out an invite to the biggest event of my life, I want people to stop and say, "wow!". I want them to get an impression that my wedding is going to be a beautiful, tasteful, memorable and fun day to remember! That's why my goal at Concertina Press is to create invitations that are spectacular AND stress-free. By working directly with a designer (me!) you can be sure that your wedding stationery will be gorgeous! You can even order a sample to check out the quality of my invites - and I'll apply the cost of it toward your order when it's time to get your invites! I have a full matching suite including:

Oyster Wedding Invitations, Menus, Programs, Table Cards, Place Cards and Thank You Cards.

What can I say that encompasses how much I love my order?! We ordered these for our wedding save the dates and they were exactly what we were looking for. They spoke to our personality, wedding setting and we couldn't be happier with the final product. Ruth was also extremely responsive and easy to work with when we had questions about a few tweaks. Thank you, Ruth! - Ali & Pat

These Cape Cod save the dates are the real deal

Cape Cod Save the Date personalized with a heart from Concertina Press
When I designed these Cape Cod Map save the dates, I was thinking about the type of save the date that I would have sent to my wedding guests when I was married in Falmouth on 7-7-7 (I can hardly believe it's been so long, it feels like yesterday!). I loved the look of this gorgeous antique map, and using the computer I digitally restored it, and combined it with a timeless script font for the names and "Save the Date" and all-caps font for the crucial information like date, location and website.

Full disclosure: when my husband and I were married I was not a stationery designer at all, I was a librarian! We lived close to the Marine Biological Laboratory where he worked as a computer programmer, and I worked at the MBLWHOI science library. While I was there I worked on a big project to archive all of the old collections that were no longer copyrighted, scan them, and make them available to the public. That's where I found most of the beautiful illustrations you see on my invitations.

Fast forward a few years and I had a dream job at a cute stationery store in the Queen's Buyway next to Coffee O putting my art degree to work designing wedding invites and stationery for Cape Cod clients. When that shop closed, I finally had my chance to start Concertina Press, and a chance to use the gorgeous illustrations I'd had on my mind for years, and I've been at it ever since. I love what I do!

A few years ago I moved down to Florida to be closer to my folks, but my Cape Cod save the dates, Cape Cod wedding invitations, and wedding day stationery are still very popular, and I love making them because each order reminds me of my own wedding on the Cape.

Cape Cod Town Table Numbers for Wedding, Rehearsal Dinner or Party

Cape Cod Town Name Table Number from Concertina Press
If you're having your wedding on Cape Cod, a really cute alternative to regular table numbers is to name each table after a town on the Cape. I designed these two styles of Cape Cod table numbers to match my classic Cape Cod Wedding Invitation - but they would be great for rehearsal dinners or parties with seated dinners. Each one has a heart over the town so that your diners can learn a little bit about Cape geography. I also have matching Cape Cod place cards too! The table cards are professionally printed on heavy lightly textured card stock and I hand-layer them to be double-thickness, and they are double sided, so they're visible from both sides.

Alternative Guestbook Map for your Cape Cod Wedding

Alternative Guest Book Map for your Cape Cod Wedding

Map of Cape Cod Alternative Wedding Guest Book

So excited to offer this fun alternative guestbook for your wedding on Cape Cod! I created this gorgeous antique map of the Cape, based on my very popular Cape Cod Save the Dates and Cape Cod Wedding Invitations so that your guests can sign their names and well wishes around the map, and you can frame it to create a lovely keepsake that will remind you of your wedding day for years to come. The order process is very easy, and you'll get to see a digital proof to see how it'll look before it's printed (and make any changes if needed).

Cape Cod Guestbook Poster for your wedding in different sizes

Unframed for more Flexibility

Originally I had thought of offering it in a frame, but there are SO many places that sell frames, like Target, Pier One, or Michaels that I figured:

1) It would be great if you could pick your own frame to match the feel of your home, whether it be a cool modern city apartment in Boston or a cozy seaside cottage on the Cape.

2) It would be significantly more expensive to ship a heavy framed piece, not to mention more breakable.

So instead, you'll get a print shipped to you in the mail, the map is printed with long-lasting archival ink on 100% cotton rag paper (NOT poster paper, which will yellow and fade in just a few years!) and is customized with your name, wedding date, town and an optional heart over the town. Once you buy a frame, you can leave the glass out at the wedding so people can sign it, and then when the wedding is over, add the glass back in to create an instant heirloom keepsake from your wedding.

"Ok!" You're saying - "how do I get one of these awesome guestbook maps for myself??" Simply visit my online shop and follow the ordering instructions in the description:

Cape Cod Save the Dates with map and additional info card with a tiny anchor

Cape Cod save the dates with map and an additional info card with a tiny anchor for accommodation details

I made this Cape Cod save the date for a couple getting married in Harwich who wanted to include an extra information card for their out of town guests to remind them to book early since hotels in Cape Cod fill up fast, especially during wedding season.

They also had a section on their website where guests could RSVP online, which was a good idea to get an early general headcount. I designed the additional info card to have a tiny navy blue anchor floating in a gray nautical compass, a motif I continued for their wedding invitation. The Cape Cod map had a tiny heart over the location of the ceremony in Harwich Port.

Cape Cod Map Save the Dates with Icons for the Ceremony and Reception Venues

Light Blue Cape Cod Save the Date with icons over venue and reception by Concertina Press
Most people have their wedding reception near to their ceremony location - but what about if they're in different towns? How do you let your guests know? One of my customers from last summer solved that problem with my Cape Cod Save the Date, by putting two icons on the map - a tiny heart for the ceremony location in Orleans, and a tiny cake for the reception in West Dennis. So cute, and it let her guests know that they could look for accommodations in either town, or anywhere in between! She further customized the design by pairing the navy map with light blue envelopes.

I wrapped up the save the dates in pretty gold and white tissue paper, and wrote a little thank you note on my sea bream thank you cards, tied up with baker's twine, making a very pretty package for the bride and groom to open.
