These Cape Cod save the dates are the real deal

Cape Cod Save the Date personalized with a heart from Concertina Press
When I designed these Cape Cod Map save the dates, I was thinking about the type of save the date that I would have sent to my wedding guests when I was married in Falmouth on 7-7-7 (I can hardly believe it's been so long, it feels like yesterday!). I loved the look of this gorgeous antique map, and using the computer I digitally restored it, and combined it with a timeless script font for the names and "Save the Date" and all-caps font for the crucial information like date, location and website.

Full disclosure: when my husband and I were married I was not a stationery designer at all, I was a librarian! We lived close to the Marine Biological Laboratory where he worked as a computer programmer, and I worked at the MBLWHOI science library. While I was there I worked on a big project to archive all of the old collections that were no longer copyrighted, scan them, and make them available to the public. That's where I found most of the beautiful illustrations you see on my invitations.

Fast forward a few years and I had a dream job at a cute stationery store in the Queen's Buyway next to Coffee O putting my art degree to work designing wedding invites and stationery for Cape Cod clients. When that shop closed, I finally had my chance to start Concertina Press, and a chance to use the gorgeous illustrations I'd had on my mind for years, and I've been at it ever since. I love what I do!

A few years ago I moved down to Florida to be closer to my folks, but my Cape Cod save the dates, Cape Cod wedding invitations, and wedding day stationery are still very popular, and I love making them because each order reminds me of my own wedding on the Cape.

Cape Cod Save the Dates in Gray and Navy Perfect for your Cape Cod Wedding

I had a special request this summer for a bride getting married in Chatham for Cape Cod Map save the dates in navy and a soft, dove gray. I absolutely love how the colors came out, and they’re perfect for a classic and timeless wedding, especially if you think the regular design with the navy envelopes doesn’t quite fit your theme. If you’re interested in ordering light gray Cape Cod Map save the dates for your wedding, feel free to contact me with the number you’re thinking of ordering and I’ll be happy to give you a quote as well as more information about the ordering process.

Don’t forget to check out my reviews! I know speaking from my own experience that I love the convenience of ordering online, but also want to be assured that if I’m making a large and important purchase that I’m dealing with the right person: visit my reviews page  to see what past clients have to say about working with Concertina Press.

Cape Cod Save the Dates with map and additional info card with a tiny anchor

Cape Cod save the dates with map and an additional info card with a tiny anchor for accommodation details

I made this Cape Cod save the date for a couple getting married in Harwich who wanted to include an extra information card for their out of town guests to remind them to book early since hotels in Cape Cod fill up fast, especially during wedding season.

They also had a section on their website where guests could RSVP online, which was a good idea to get an early general headcount. I designed the additional info card to have a tiny navy blue anchor floating in a gray nautical compass, a motif I continued for their wedding invitation. The Cape Cod map had a tiny heart over the location of the ceremony in Harwich Port.

Cape Cod Map Save the Dates with Icons for the Ceremony and Reception Venues

Light Blue Cape Cod Save the Date with icons over venue and reception by Concertina Press
Most people have their wedding reception near to their ceremony location - but what about if they're in different towns? How do you let your guests know? One of my customers from last summer solved that problem with my Cape Cod Save the Date, by putting two icons on the map - a tiny heart for the ceremony location in Orleans, and a tiny cake for the reception in West Dennis. So cute, and it let her guests know that they could look for accommodations in either town, or anywhere in between! She further customized the design by pairing the navy map with light blue envelopes.

I wrapped up the save the dates in pretty gold and white tissue paper, and wrote a little thank you note on my sea bream thank you cards, tied up with baker's twine, making a very pretty package for the bride and groom to open.
