Updated Compass Nautical Wedding Invitations

Nautical Wedding Invitation Set from Concertina Press with Compass in Navy Blue

Compass Invites Guide Guests to your Wedding

I'm delighted to introduce my freshly-updated Nautical Compass Wedding Invitation . This navy blue and white design is fresh and classic, perfect for a yacht club wedding or wedding with a nautical theme.

When I first started creating nautical wedding invitations in 2011 when I lived in Cape Cod, wedding websites were not very common. Now most of my couples have websites they'd like to include, but not on the more formal wedding invitation. That's why I've created this beautiful small insert card that says "For more additional information, please visit our wedding website". You can have it say other things, for instance if you're having your guests RSVP online it can say something like "Please RSVP by January 1st on our website:". The size is 2.5"x3.5", half the size of the RSVP card, so if you need to include more information, I also offer an add-on insert card that's larger.

Concertina Press is a small independently owned stationery company located in Cocoa Beach, Florida (formerly in Falmouth, Massachusetts) that specializes in nautical wedding invitations, beach wedding invitations and aquarium wedding invitations.

Looking for Yacht Club wedding invitations? Look no further than these Sailboat and Waves invitations!

Yacht Club Wedding Invitations for a Nautical Ceremony by Concertina Press
You know what I love about sailing? The quiet! When you're out on the water and all you can hear is the creak of the lines, the wind in the sails and the whoosh (splash?) of the waves...that's what inspired me to make these Yacht Club Wedding Invitations.

Each set comes with a double sided 5"x7" wedding invitation printed on luxury textured card stock, with your wording in a classic and traditional style on the front topped with a beautiful sailboat motif, and then on the back as a beautiful surprise there's a pretty royal and navy blue waves design. The 3.5"x5" RSVP features a regatta, or group of sailboats, and the free 2.5"x3.5"website card has another sailboat (or you can request an anchor or other design). I also have an optional larger insert card available where you can list weekend events or your rehearsal dinner.

I love sailing and also designing wedding invitations, so I'm happy to bring together two things I love! Here's a picture of me sailing on the Indian River in Florida:
So without further ado, here are some more photos of my new pretty Sailboat and Waves wedding invitation set that is perfect for your wedding at a yacht club or on a boat. These nautical wedding invitations are also great for a beach wedding or a wedding on Cape Cod. Also it's no coincidence that these nautical wedding invites match my Cape Cod save the dates in color and font! I wanted to create a classic looking set that matched that would be perfect for a wedding on the Cape (which was where I was married, too!).

You can see pricing or purchase samples on my website or in my etsy shop here:

(they are the same! I just named them differently)

Nautical Wedding Invitations featuring the Compass Rose

Compass Nautical Wedding Invitations from Concertina Press
These nautical wedding invitations are perfect for your beach wedding, or even for your wedding on a sailboat! The first, pictured above, was inspired by an old woodcut print from the 1800's featuring the type of compass that would be used on a ship.

The thing that makes the nautical compass rose a little different is all the initials you see, like "S" "SW" and "SWbS". They let the navigator know the direction of the wind and the direction of travel. "S" means "South", "SW" means "Southwest" and "SWbS" means "Southwest by South".

Each invitation set comes with a wedding invitation, RSVP card, envelopes for both, and also an optional insert card that you can use for directions or weekend events.

I also have matching wedding stationery available. There's a picture below of my compass wedding program - here are links to everything you see in this post - you can also contact me if you have any questions or if you'd like a quote!

Pre-Made Samples are available in my etsy shop or on my website:

Sailing Ship Wedding Invitations for your Nautical Nuptiuals

I'm so excited to show off my latest nautical wedding invitation design - Merchant Ship Wedding Invitations. Last year I had several requests to create wedding invitations based on those beautiful 18th and 19th century oil paintings of ships that you see in places like the Peabody-Essex museum. When I lived in Cape Cod there was a long history of sailing there, and there was even a bar called the Nimrod that had a cannonball hole in the bathroom that was from the Revolutionary war! If you're getting married in a historical area like New England or a little further south in Annapolis Maryland, these sailing ship invitations are great nod to the history of the place and your guests will love the classic look.
Are you interested in ordering some for your wedding? You can contact me, Ruth, the designer and owner of Concertina Press directly for a quote (just let me know how many you need) or you can purchase a pre-printed sample on my website first, so you can see the paper and print quality.

Nautical Compass Wedding Invitations for a Kennebunkport Maine Wedding in Navy and White

Nautical Compass Wedding Invitations for a Kennebunkport Maine Wedding
My navy nautical compass wedding invitations were the perfect fit for this coastal Maine wedding this past June in Kennebunkport. You might remember that Kennebunkport was where President George Bush Sr. would always go for his summer vacation. Kennebunkport is a charming New England fishing village with a lot of history and it's very popular in the summertime for folks escaping the heat. I used to go up to visit friends in nearby Higgins Beach and always enjoyed a tasty lobster roll when I had the chance!

We printed these invites on a bright white paper as opposed to the off-white bamboo stock they usually come on so that they would match the white envelopes that I addressed with digital calligraphy.

Shark Wedding Invitations with Coral Reef RSVP cards

These shark wedding invitations are classy and cool, with a vintage modern look - I made them using antique scientific illustrations of a blue shark and red coral, and paired them with royal blue envelopes.

I think they'd be perfect for a wedding or reception at an Aquarium, or for an underwater wedding (not so common, but I saw one on the Travel Channel once!). In one week I had two requests for an invitation with a shark on it, and I thought it was a fun challenge!
If you're interested in having these shark invitations for your wedding, you can purchase a sample in my online shop to see the quality of the paper and printing, or contact me for a quote, or if you have questions.

Striped Bass Wedding Invitations

Striped Bass Wedding Invitation by Concertina Press

I almost never do custom wedding invitations, but when a client who I'd already worked with asked if I could create a special fishing themed invitation featuring a striped bass for her wedding invitation, I decided to accept the challenge!

Striped Bass Invitation by Concertina Press

The blue border is actually printed directly onto the paper- if I did this again, I would probably do a layered invitation, like my Cape Cod wedding invitation, instead. Getting the blue border right on the printed invite was tough - when they're trimmed at the printer it's easy for them to accidentally cut it with uneven edges. I had to get a reprint the first time around! Too bad because it looks neat.

Striped Bass Fishing RSVP postcard by Concertina Press

The reply card is a postcard - originally Megan was thinking of a fishing theme overall, but we decided to keep the hook on the RSVP - I left the fish unhooked - didn't want the invite to seem too much like she'd "snared" her man haha. I think it came out really cute! This is the same fish as is on the invitation, but I adjusted his eye so that he'd be looking at the hook. He's from an old 1800's fisheries guidebook.

We finished these custom Striped Bass invitations with a lovely waves envelope liner (pictured in the first photo) that I color-matched to the invitation. All in all, a great success, and a fun fishing-themed wedding invitation!

Nautical Pennant Save the Dates and Wedding Invitations

Light Blue Pennant Save the Dates by Concertina Press

Blue bunting wedding invitations by Concertina Press
Having a yacht club wedding? These festive blue bunting invitations and save the dates are great for nautical weddings. The pennant flags bring to mind a day at the races - sailboat races! Both the Pennant Save the Date and the Pennant Wedding Invitation are printed on white paper with light blue envelopes. I love packaging beach wedding invites in gold and white striped tissue paper with striped baker's twine, as you see above - the weddings above took place in Bedford, Massachusetts and Gulf Shores, Alabama.
