I created these invitations using a 100 year old driving map of the Island. Can you imagine driving around the scenic country roads back in the day? It's not too hard, given that Martha's Vineyard has done an amazing job of preserving the historic feel of the Island.

Since 2010 I've been creating nautical wedding invitations for New England weddings - starting when I lived in Woods Hole on Cape Cod, and even continuing now that I've moved South to sunny Florida!

Martha's Vineyard Save the Dates with Map and Cute Tiny Heart

Oh the Vineyard! What a beautiful place to be married. I remember when I lived in Woods Hole, just across Vineyard Sound, we'd take the ferry deep in the winter when it got dark at 4 o'clock and visit Offshore Ale in Oak Bluffs and enjoy oysters and stout. In the fall my friends and I would go over with our bikes and ride the coast, admiring the beautiful houses and stopping for coffees at Mocha Motts. I can smell that soft salty breeze right now! I live in Florida now to be closer to my folks, but I still love to go up North and visit.

I created these Martha's Vineyard save the dates from a beautiful 100-year-old touring map of the Island. The navy blue map has the names of all of the towns, and you can move the heart over the town where you're getting married at no extra charge. Martha's Vineyard Save the Dates with Map and Tiny Heart

These Martha's Vineyard Save the Dates feature an antique map of the Vineyard that I discovered in a stockpile of decades-old maps - this one was drawn for automobile tourists back when driving was a total novelty in the early 20's. These days you need to make reservations weeks, if not months in advance to bring your car over on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, I don't know how they did it back then! Maybe they had open top cars to rent?

The original colors for this save the date are slightly different, as shown below, but you can also request a save the date with your own customizations - for instance, we changed the map color to navy, we added a pink heart and did white envelopes instead of navy - they came out beautifully!

Anyway, enough about cars! This lovely wedding took place in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard - one of the most charming towns in New England, with a reception at the gorgeous Harbor View Hotel - so perfect!:

Vintage Modern Martha's Vineyard Map Wedding Invitations

I created these Martha's Vineyard map wedding invitations for a couple getting married in Edgartown. I love the combo of vintage and modern, and the navy, white and gray color scheme is perfect for a vineyard wedding with a clambake reception. 

We included a clambake card with a lobster on it to show guests where to go, and also to explain what a clambake is (it's a big seafood dinner with clams, lobsters, corn and chowder, traditionally all "baked" in the sand with hot coals, but now more often done outdoors on the grill).
